Contrary to popular belief, quite a few guys do Enjoy the Shojo Genre, too =3 Myself included.
I believe, however, I found a manga with the perfect Balance of Action AND Personal character Development: Try out Mahou Sensei Negima, one of the best manga's I've read to date.
It's not just an action story: It's some sort of Love traingle thing... on steroids O_o You should try it out, but just to let ya know, there is quite a bit of Ecchi in it ^^"

But yeah, I find I also like the "Seinen" Genre, too; You ever read or watch any of the Higurashi Mangas or Anime? Freaky stuff there (/wince)... or See the Black Lagoon Anime?
